Bald Eagle
Bald Eagle is a freestone stream originating around Altoona and flowing east where it combines with Spring Creek at Milesburg. Although this stream has some great hatches trout season is often short lived. The stream does have some holdovers mainly below the confluence with Spring Creek but the upper sections warm up very fast and the stream levels drop in early summer. During the summer months you can catch smallmouth bass and rockbass throughout the entire length of the stream.

The Bald Eagle is ranked #1 as a stocked trout stream by the PFBC. A fingerling stocking program is also in place on the lower sections. In some parts, the stream is very wide and very deep while other parts are extreamly shallow. This stream offers a diverse portfolio of fishing action and should not be overlooked.
