Black Moshannon
Black Moshannon is a freestone stream originating at Black Moshannon State Park. This stream is very choked with mountain laural throughout most of its length. While some natural reproduction may occur most of the stream is only fishable when stocked. There is a delayed harvest section which also see's a great fall stocking of brook trout and tiger trout. Biting midges can be very bad at certain times of year so bring something to protect your skin if you plan to fish this stream. The scenery on this stream is second to none and often times in the late season you can have the whole stream to yourself. This is mountain fishing at its finest, you feel like you're a million miles out in the middle of nowhere.
